Flying Lanterns are a quieter, gentler alternative to fireworks. They are safe, simple and a perfect way to create an amazing visual display in the sky.
Send your lantern soaring to celebrate New Year, Weddings, Birthdays, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Diwali or any other special event. It will fly for up to 20mins and can rise over a mile in the sky - where it will still be visible all around.
The flying Lantern is made from flame-resistant, biodegradeable materials and the frame is made from Bamboo - a wood that is quickly replenished.
Make sure that you familiarise yourself with the instructions provided, always keep water or fire extinguishers nearby.
Children must not be left unattended with lanterns. Ensure that the wind is not stronger than 5mph.
Use care around crops, ensure that trees are not in the flying path. Do not release within five miles of Airport.
If you plan to let then off at a beach location then please inform the coast guard.
1. Check wind direction before the release to avoid the lantern blowing into any obstacles.
2. Hold the bamboo ring at the base and gently swing to fill the lantern with air.
3. Hold the top of the lantern and get an assistant to light the corners of the wax "fuel cell"
4. Continue to hold the lavtern as it fills with hot air and when it becomer self supporting, transfer your hold to the bamboo ring at the base.
5. When the lantern starts lifting on it's own, release and enjoy!
The paper if flame proof and should not burn. Exposure to the flame will cause it to blacken and become flaky. If you create a large hole in the lantern then it should be discarded. Keep away from sources of heat before launch.
